How You'll Perform the Role Novolex is a leader in packaging innovation, choice and sustainability.
We manufacture products in paper, plastic and sustainable materials for the food, retail, health and industrial markets.
Strategically partner with plant leadership to develop and implement retention, training & development, and compliance initiatives.
Assist employees with day to day inquiries pertaining to HR related matters Create, improve and administer human resource policies and procedures.
Monitors and oversee all recruitment-related activities including, but not limited to; posting/communicating open positions, screening candidates, conducting interviews, updating job descriptions, etc.
Manage onboarding process for newly hired salaried employees.
Perform exit interviews Conduct workplace investigations and assist with employee relations counseling Compile and report HR metrics to management Analyze local labor & compensation trends, and develop initiatives to maintain competitiveness in the labor market Assist with annual performance review process Conduct weekly staff review and retention meetings Manage union contract interpretation.
Establish and maintain relationships with union officers What We Need From You 5-10
years of Human Resources experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Bachelor's Degree in a related field is preferred or a combination of relevant experience and education.
Experience in ADP Etime & Successfactors is a plus Excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills Ability to analyze, comprehend and execute in a high-speed environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong interpersonal skills Experience with hourly recruiting, employee relations and engagement, benefits administration, policy communication and administration, HR compliance, workplace investigations etc.
Experience with handling workers compensation a plus.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Experience with union/labor relations, hourly recruiting, employee relations and engagement, benefits administration, payroll, policy communication and administration, HR compliance, etc.
